First released in October 2025 on PC, PS5, Xbox, Switch, BALL x PIT has achieved considerable success. Therefore, developer Kenny Sun continued to release versions for Android and iOS in March 2026. Just a few weeks after its mobile launch, BALL x PIT has also achieved significant success, most notably over 100,000 downloads and a 4.7-star rating on the Google Play store.

Background

According to information from the developer and other sources, BALL x PIT is set in a fictional world – a place where the ancient city of Ballbylon once existed. Ballbylon was once a bustling and peaceful city. However, a catastrophic event caused its disappearance. A giant black hole swallowed the entire city, leaving behind many mysteries.

Within this black hole, monsters gradually emerge, ferocious, brutal, and extremely dangerous to humankind. Therefore, many heroes and adventurers have gathered, determined to explore this mysterious black hole. They battle the monsters as they descend into the hole and attempt to rebuild the lost city of Ballbylon. As a hero, are you ready to conquer this mysterious black hole?

Gameplay

It’s safe to say that BALL x PIT boasts quite interesting, engaging, and diverse gameplay. The game combines ball-shooting, adventure, and base-building genres. Above ground, you can farm and build structures to increase your strength. Underground, you’ll face numerous monsters armed with powerful balls.

To begin exploring BALL x PIT, we need to choose a character. Each character has their own unique fighting style, allowing them to enter a mysterious abyss. Here, you’ll shoot different types of balls, which will bounce off walls, ricochet, and inflict damage on enemies. You’ve probably experienced this genre many times, but you’ve probably never played a game as exciting as this one.

Survival in the Abyss

As mentioned above, to conquer BALL x PIT, we need to descend deeper. Each level of this abyss is filled with monsters and powerful bosses. Fighting with your balls will earn you experience and level you up. You’ll then get to randomly choose new weapons or effects – which will also help you survive longer. This is quite similar to the previous survivor games we’ve introduced, but with a vertical scrolling screen style.

The game’s appeal lies not only in the ability to level up and choose skills and weapons, but also in the ability to merge and randomly upgrade. Occasionally, after defeating enemies, there’s a small chance of special energy blocks dropping. Collecting them can grant you the ability to merge skills – combining your existing skills into a new form – or upgrade your existing skills to a random level. Collect them as soon as possible; your power will increase significantly.

Build your base in BALL x PIT

On the ground, above the BALL x PIT pit, we have a small plot of land to build our base. Initially, it’s quite small, only 2×3 tiles, but it will certainly expand in the future. There are quite a few buildings you can construct, such as the Wheat Field to provide wheat, the Forest to provide wood, and the Sheriff’s Office, the home for The Itchy Finger…

Each structure serves a unique purpose and provides essential resources for conquering the abyss. However, unlocking and building more structures requires considerable time exploring the abyss. To harvest resources from these structures, you still use the ball-shooting and bouncing mechanism to move your character and collect them.
